WAVE TABLE EMULATION
Wavetable emulation is nothing more than having a software based wave table. Different instrument samples are loaded into memory, and a MIDI driver uses those samples instead of the normal ugly samples. Even the AWE64 comes with a wave table emulator of sorts that harnesses the AWE64's power as well as using software to improve sound.

Wavetable emulators are all over 1MB to download and Archaic Ruins doesn't really focus on them. If you would like to lend some information to Archaic Ruins or would like to maintain this section, Chris A maintainer would be expected to review each emulator, compare them, get sound samples, buy me pizza, worship the ground I walk upon, and most importantly, join my new cult. - Chris =)
