Recommended Emulators
- DOSemu (v0.66.7 / Unix)
So many Linux users have testified their love for DOSemu, that DOSemu
has gained much recognition as a very reliable and useful emulator.
DPMI games such as Duke Nukem 3D, emulators such as NESticle, and all
sorts of MS-DOS programs can be run through DOSemu -- and best of all,
for free.
- SoftWindows '95 (v5.0.3 MacOS / v4.0 Unix)
For $199, a virtually perfect Windows environment is yours for either your
MacOS or Unix desktops. The price tag is quite heavy, but the end result
is great! Many Macintosh computer systems are even sold with SoftWindows
'95 now built in running Windows 98!
- XT-CE (v? / WinCE)
Although it isn't free, the idea of MS-DOS emulation on palmtop computers
is a wonderful idea! Games such as the original King's Quests,
Space Quests, and Leisure Suit Larrys run on this incredible little
emulator. A small price tag is on XT-CE's homepage.
