Virtual SuperMagicom

VSMC '97 is here finally! The entire SNES Final Fantasy series is playable, although the extent to which the latter ones are playable is unknown. Many new games work including Super Mario All-Stars (fully!) and even Chrono Trigger! Although I have not yet received my VSMC Registered (Long story, I have the disk, but it was 1 of 2 faulty releases), I will display the VSMC '97 images found on Virtual SuperMagicom's homepage until I can do more =). VSMC/OS is now a thing of the past, so you can forget that =)... Registered copies are still $35, and Shareware copies have terrible 8 color palettes.

Virtual SuperMagicom, v0.9702(D)
Without a timer, VSMC is now fully playable unless you happen to dislike the limit of eight colors that the Shareware version allows. For information on ordering the registered version, click on The_Brain's homepage linked below. The latest version of VSMC is much faster, plays much more, and basically rocks... just not in eight colors...

Virtual SuperMagicom Homepage
The Brain, also a member of Damaged Cybernetics, maintains the VSMC homepage for obvious reasons. Check here for the latest releases in the event of this page getting behind on releases (which shouldn't normally uccor)

VSMC Chat Logs
Check out Archaic Ruins' new forum called Archaic Articles! Many chat logs from The Brain are archived there and might be able to answer your questions on VSMC, and HEY! It'll show you the social side of The Brain!

VSMC '97 plays Final Fantasy II, III, and V

VSMC '97 plays Final Fantasy II, III, V, as well as Super Mario Allstars (All four games), Wanderers from Y's III (perfectly), Super Punchout (without flicker), Super Offroad (perfect), Final Fantasy II (the battles windows work!), Shadowrun, F-Zero, International Superstar Soccer, Soulblazer (speaking to the shrine-spirit doesn't lock it up, anymore), and LOTS of other *NEW* stuff in addition to the games listed in the VSMC Docs. There has not been an *official* release of VSMC 97 because there are still many changes I want to make beforehand (VSMC '97 is going to be BIG!), however, some registered users may have been slipped a copy of VSMC 0.9701(a) through 0.9702(c) (depending on when you registered). The *official* release (the crippled shareware version for unregistered users, and the registered users' upgrade for all the nice people who have paid to support VSMC) will be available shortly. For now, you'll be stuck with VSMC 96.

No More VSMC O/S...
No More Rebooting...
Because many registered users have complained about having to reboot everytime they wanted to use VSMC, the VSMC Operating System 'project' has been terminated. VSMC Registered Users who received a copy of VSMC with the VSMC O/S may request a (free) patch, which will turn your VSMC O/S disk into a normal MS-DOS disk with the newest version of VSMC.
