Emulators

What is a wave table other than a bank of memory on a sound card containing higher quality midi samples? Why not create that bank of memory on your hard drive? Its emulation at its best -- sound card wave table emulation! Due to the amount of new sound card emulators being released, it is too much effort for myself to be transferring these large files on my 14.4. I personally use WinGroove, and do not use the other emulators. Therefore, WinGroove will be the only wave table emulator located on this site. Links to appropriate homepages will provide enough information otherwise.

Windows 3.1/95
WinGroove
Yamaha SoftSynth

WinGroove v0.9E English (Windows 95)

WinGroove is an amazing wave table emulator that excels in Electric Guitar and percussion. Unfortunately, due to WinGroove's superior sound, much CPU is harnessed and other programs may slow down.

Yamaha SoftSynthesizer S-YG20 v5.0 (Windows 3.1/Windows 95) Yamaha's low requirement Wave Table Emulator is a step up from simple midi sound, but pales in comparison to WinGroove's quality. Fortunately, SoftSynthesizer has low system requirements and performs much better on low level machines.

Virtual Sound Canvas 55 (Windows 3.1/Windows 95) Roland's Wave Table Emulator is a step up from simple midi sound, and a step down from WinGroove's quality. Fortunately, like SoftSynthesizer, Virtual Sound Canvas has low system requirements and performs much better on low level machines.
